Maison d’être

Maison5

Everybody wants a local cafe to call their own. A secret spot that you believe only a select few people are in the know about. I have been searching years for this perfect spot, but unfortunately never found it in my neighbourhood, so I am contemplating moving to Highbury and Islington just so that I can call Maison D’être my local.

Maison2

Situated on Highbury Corner, once you step inside this quaint cafe you forget the hustle and bustle that awaits you outside. Small but perfectly formed, it feels like strolling into a friend’s apartment with lots of cushions, mismatched furniture, wooden floors and the sweetest conservatory to spend the afternoon reading a book or catching up with mates.

Maison

On a hot summer’s day, coffee can be the last thing on your mind, but cold drinks are given just as much thought at Maison. Why not try their affogato, a double shot of Red Brick pulled over two scoops of Udderlicious vanilla ice cream. Or the equally delicious Maison Iced Tea – earl grey tea steeped with honey and fresh lemon over ice!

Maison3

What are you waiting for? The weekend is almost here, so call your friends and tell them to meet you at your local for coffee, a spot of brunch and some homemade cake, they will be more than happy you did.
